Being popular is for schmucks!

Hiya!! I can't believe I haven't even posted properly in here yet! It's ludicrous! Well... not entirely. I had a few posts written but those Commies at the library wouldn't allow me access to this post a blog page on their computers so I just let it go, watched Pippi Longstocking for the millionth time and drank myself into oblivion instead. I don't regret it though, it's like they say 'I do not regret the things I've done but those I did not do". Like I don't regret being a trash bag last Saturday night, but I do regret NOT stopping myself from throwing raw pork at that copper. Did he deserve it? yes. Did I deserve a night in the slammer? debatable.

So hate to disappoint the few (if any) readers who may be here for a good ol Don Dons rant but today's entry is actually a shout out to some pretty darn talented peeps I know. I think it's only fitting that my first post be a link to something amazing because there aint gon be any more gold like that after this. Do you hearing really politically incorrect things, lots of shameful confessions and someone talking about kebabs a lot? Well then tune in next week because that's about the extent of my repertoire, kids. But this week... let's get our hipster shoes on, our dancing hats poised, our eyes un-blurred and our wallets out as we celebrate one of the most exciting Art Exhibitions to hit Adelaide in a looong time. Check it, yo...

Bizarre, beautiful and occasionally disturbing, this exhibition will show exclusively at Juxtapose Studios.

These amazing artists are all good friends of mine and I'd support them regardless of their commercial success, but the thing is they don't really even need my support. They are all such diverse and brilliant artists, people who have the talent and insight to create pieces I couldn't even hope to conjure up in my own brain meat area. I'm astounded every time I see what they've been up to and I am slowly working towards owning at least a few pieces from each of them. And this isn't because I'm supporting them, this is because I'm selfish and I know that one day they'll be worth so much more than I paid for them. I'm investing in my own future. But that's cool, yeh? that's like a drug dealer egging on a pot addict to move to a harder drug? It's just good business, you know?!

But to get back to the point, I can't stress enough how freakin sweet this exhibition is going to be. I remember I saw an exhibition years ago that was just called 'Vs'. It was amazing and I wanted so badly to buy some work but I didn't because I thought I'd have time. Years later I can't remember the artists' names, or what else they'd been involved in and I have no idea how to rectify this wrong. Don't do a Donna and regret not attending. Just come along, trust me. I might not know anything about men or relationships or budgeting or healthy lifestyles but on regrets... I am the professor. Hear it, learn it, live it.

ADIOS MUCHACHAS! xoxo
